OAU: Students complain of Offensive odour as Uncleared Waste Collection point liters school Premises

The students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife has lamented the deplorable condition of the atmosphere around the residential and academic areas of the school.

It was gathered by Eagle Post Correspondents that the Waste Collection Pointvalong Moremi Hostel and Chemistry Department has remained uncleared for weeks, the Waste Collection Point by the side of Amphi Theatre has also not been cleared.

Students reacted to this recent development by imploring the management to stand up to their duties and instruct the appropriate quarters to clear the dirts.

An occupant of Moremi hostel by the name Aishat called the refuse collection point a nuisance; she said

"It is totally barbaric and this refuse collection point which was meant to ensure cleanliness in the environment has become a nuisance"

A passerby, Ezekiel called it a public disgrace, he said;

"I am so sure people on the outside world won't believe a school like OAU would have roads that people usually pass daily as a refuse dump, this is a public disgrace and this mustn't get to the outside world, it is the same way that the people meant to clear the dirts haven't packed the one at Angola and Amphi Theatre, I just hope the people meant to pack it would do the needful sonnest"

As at the time of filing this report, every effort to reach the Director of works proved abortive.
