Nigeria Spends #157bn on vehicles, aircraft part, vessels importation

Nigeria Spent a total of #157billion on the importation of vehicles, aircrafts and vessels in the third quarter of 2017.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, foreign foreign trad statistics for the third quarter of 2017, the figure rose by 17.7percent from #133.4bn the country spent in the same period of 2016.

The Country also spent #34.55bn on used vehicles and vehicles with diesel engine of cylinder capacities, while the nation spent #23.9bn on imported motorcycles, Completely Knocked Down,CKD by
 established manufacturers.

It will be recalled that the Federal Government begin implementation of zero duty and value Added Tax, VAT, payment on the importation of Commercial airplanes and spare parts.
The new move by the government is part of the intervention efforts to lessen the cost of burden that domestic operators bear, as well as ensure safe flight operations.

I The Federal Govt Of Nigeria had a meeting with the JAC which comprised of NASU, SSANU and NAAT on Tuesday 19th Of December 2017 to discuss way forward in reference to the sharing formulae of the Earned allowances. The JAC fully represented told their members to continue full actions till the dialogue is completely concluded and further instructed all Branches to leave no stone unturned in the Industrial Action.
